Awards, Scholarships, and Fellowships

Criteria for FAHE Awards, Scholarship, and Fellowships are listed on the application pages that can be accessed using the links below. All applicants are evaluated on the caliber of their submitted documents.

Awards, scholarships, and fellowships are presented at the annual conference of the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE). Recipients are encouraged to attend the conference, though they are not required to do so to accept their award, scholarship, or fellowship.

Deadline to apply for awards, scholarships, and fellowships is November 30, 2023.
The deadline to apply for the Dr. Robert R. Blackburn award is January 15, 2024.


For Undergraduate Students

The Dr. Becky J. Smith Scholarship for $1000 will be presented annually for undergraduate students.
Deadline to apply is November 30, 2023.

For Graduate Students

The Dr. Mary K. Beyrer Scholarship for $1000 will be presented annually for master’s degree or doctoral level students.
Deadline to apply is November 30, 2023.

The Dr. Delbert Oberteuffer Scholarship for $1500 will be presented annually for doctoral students.
Deadline to apply is November 30, 2023.

For Masters Students

The Dr. Marion B. Pollock Fellowship for $3000 fellowship will be presented annually to a teacher or community educator working with children and youth for master’s study. Deadline to apply is November 30, 2023.

For Authors

The Dr. Ann E. Nolte Writing Award for $1000 fellowship will be presented annually for authors.
Deadline to apply is November 30, 2023.

For Practitioners

The Dr. Robert R. Blackburn Advocacy, Policy, and Systems Efforts Advancing Health Education and Promotion Award for $1000 award presented annually for practitioners. Deadline to apply is January 15, 2024.
